Having only a bare 15 players we went to Bracknell to play the away leg of the league. Unfortunately due to another under 15 match also being hosted by Bracknell training space was limited to say the least but we still managed the warm up section.

Aldermaston kicked off the game with Bracknell managing to secure the first line out, this lead to a bit of settling down before Josh managed to charge over the line between the sticks, his try was converted by Rhys. A period of even play then followed with line outs and penalties going both ways although it must be said that Aldermaston where better at retaining the ball whether it be by securing at the break down or ripping it away in contact. Rhys Decided to bag himself a converted try. This was followed a few minutes later by a try form Ben before Bracknell managed to get one for themselves. A score of 19 – 5 took us into half time.

The second half started with Ollie bagging himself a try which Rhys promptly converted, and buoyed by his first Ollie ran in a second try. Play continued both ways before Bracknell managed a deserved second try, this lifted the oppositions spirits which had before looked a little jaded. Bracknell started to come back and sit on our 5 meter line.  The ball came out of the pursuing ruck when instead of passing backwards Connor decided to box kick it into open space where Ben managed to pick it up on the bounce and run the remaining 80 meters to claim his second try, and in fairness to Bracknell their heads never returned to the drooping state they were in before their second try in fact they managed to pull together and claim a third try the score remained settled until the final whistle finishing 15 – 36 to the boys in red.

All the hard work in training has paid dividends from the afore mentioned rucks  of which Ryan seemed to make 90% of, ball carrying and offloads to general support play when and where needed I can honestly say that both myself and Phil are very proud of our boys today, and every player deserves a mention:

15: Michael, 14: Charlie E, 13: Ben , 12: Josh, 11: Ollie, 10: Rhys, 9: Connor

1: Lewis, 2: Ryan, 3: Jake, 4: Charlie M, 5: Duncan, 6: Tom B, 7: James, 8: Luke B

Well Done Lads  !
