The Junior Section presented the seasons players awards to all teams in the Junior section on Sunday 9th May. A brief AGM was held covering a successful season for the Lions section. The minis then ran through an obstacle course designed for fun, while the other Junior lads prepared for the infamous 'Lads vs Dad's' match.  A close fought match - that saw the Combined U14's/U15's narrowly beat the skillful, wise and vaguely organised Dads and Lasses team. A lot of fun, spirited competition and sore bodies for everyone over 15!! Photo's attached (I think the final score was 31 / 29 to the young pretenders)? Thanks to Luke for refereeing and all for keeping to the spirit of the game. See you all next season. |

Don't forget the visit to the West Berkshire Brewery at Yattendon is this coming Wednesday 12th May. the Mini-bus is laid on to take us from the Rec.Soc and back, so there's no excuse about having to drive. There are 4 spaces left , if you want to go , get hold of Mark on 07824 808045. |

Saturday 17th April see's our last BBO 1(S) League fixture of this season, as we visit our friends and neighbours at Tadley RFC, kick-off is 3.00pm. Your support would be welcomed. Afterwards, back at the Club, we will be stoking up the BBQ for a 6.00pm start, Mr.D " I can swear like Gordon Ramsay" McAteer will be serving up his signature dish of burnt to a crisp sausages on a bed of paper plate accompanied by a tomato or brown sauce juis , with leathery burgers on greasy onions as an alternative. All this will be washed down with ice cold juices from apples (cider to you and me). |

Aldermaston's 1st XV just fell short in a bruising BBO(1) S league encounter at Farnham Royal. Playing down the slope in the first period , they led 10-13 at the break, thanks to a Dan Lowe try and eight points from the boot of Andy Wisden. Lowe's try came from an period of extended pressure by the visiting forwards , for whom both Nicky Adkins and Brinley Filer shone. Veteran Wisden playing at full back, rolled back the years with a cunning performance, but Fenton Plant Hire Man of the Match went to Neil Martin, who despite carrying a shoulder injury was at the heart of everything that was good in the backs, and proved a rallying point for his young team mates in an what is a fast improving and exciting back division. |
