Aldermaston received the kick off but immediately passed the ball forward giving Bracknell the first put into the scrum, Aldermaston’s scrum looked the better, but the scrum was re set as the ball was deemed to have come straight out the other side, the scrum was reset and looked at stale mate, Bracknell were soon to be awarded the advantage after an infringement, and kicked the ball to touch giving the home side the first line out. The ball was taken into the opposition 22 when the lads started working through some phases with quick ball of the base, and players backing each other as they should do. Within 5 mins,

Aldermaston finally got back to winning ways on Saturday , with a comprehensive performance against Shire Hall.

Needing to win to put pressure back on the League leaders , Aldermaston went about their task in a workmanlike fashion and it wasn't long before Glyn Gregory opened the scoring with a penalty . Shortly after Nick Gundry sprinted clear to score a try and although the conversion was missed , Aldermaston stretched their lead , going into halftime , when Brinley Filer powered his way over and Gregory added the extra's.

Aldermaston's forwards were now dominatiing possession , with Atkins and Vince in good form , and so it was no surprise that we had more of the same after the interval , Gundry spotting his opportunity well and going in under the posts untouched, Gregory again successful with the conversion. With the visitors defence stretched winger Lawrence Jones added another five and Gundry capped off a fine performance with his third try of the afternoon just before the end. Nicky Adkins made a welcome return from  a long lay-off when he came off the bench with ten minutes left.

Next Saturday Aldermaston face the tricky task of a long trip to improving Chesham  .

Aldermaston couldn't pull off The Great Escape MkII , as they were well beaten on Saturday , reversing their win at Athletic earlier in the season. 

Tries by the outstanding James Atkins and Rob Mitchell , plus a Steve Tabor conversion came as scant reward for another gutsy defensive display by a side forced to travel with only three recognised backs in the starting line-up. In the previous encounter Aldermaston managed to contain the youthful , quick , Prison backs, but on this occasion , they had no answers to a slick unit.

Aldermaston will be looking for a return to winning ways when they take on Berkshire Shire Hall at the Rec.Soc this coming Saturday , kick-off 2.15pm.  

Aldermaston fell further behind in the promotion race in the BBO Champoinship , having shared the spoils with lowly Winslow on Saturday.

On a bitingly cold day in north Buckinghamshire , Aldermaston were again forced to field an in-experienced side and trailed at half-time to a solitary Winslow try , but shortly into the second-half , a rare bright spot in an otherwise dour afternoon , saw Steve Tabor round the static defence to touch down between the posts. Ian Martin's easy conversion put Aldermaston in front. Neither side were able to get the upper hand in such conditions , but a slick interchange of passes down the left wing saw the visitors extend their lead and though the difficult conversion was missed , at 5-12 , Aldermaston looked to have done just enough. However , with just minutes left Winslow took advantage of a defensive error and scored in the corner. The conversion sailed between the uprights and the match petered out.

Next Saturday Aldermaston travel to HMYOI Aylesbury to take on Aylesbury Athletic.  

A terrific "backs to the wall" defensive display saw Aldermaston snatch a point on Saturday and end their run of defeats in the BBO League.

Following three losses in a row before Christmas  , and missing some influential player due to work commitments and injuries , Aldermaston were desperate to get themselves back in the promotion hunt , but found Abingdon a more difficult side than league positions suggested and in the opening twenty minutes the home side were pinned inside their own 22 . Stubborn defence , and a bit of luck , kept Abingdon out and eventually Aldermaston were able clear their lines and relieve the pressure.
