As part of the
London Irish St Patricks Day celebration, an 80 strong crowd
travelled to the Mad Stad to join in a pre-match parade. All
members of the juniors in the parade invested a good deal of
time making their Irish themed costumes and hats, ready to
walk a lap of honour alongside other Community Partner clubs
in front of the largest Premiership crowd (19,844) this
season as The Exiles took on league leaders Sale Sharks.
Outstanding
and commanding play from the Exiles, seeing Kiwi Riki
Flutley dance across as well as Sailosi
Tagicakibau, who scooped a fine pass and then outrun the
fastest man in England Jason Robinson, and finished with
winger Delon Armitage
scoring the try of the game from a superb quick pass - a
chip over the heads of the sharks allowed him the room to
score.
The match was
sealed by the boot, with Sale and England kicker Charlie
Hodgson managing to take the points.

The junior in the
parade were proud to be also carrying special Get Well Soon
Jack banners, specially made for a poorly member of the
Exiles FanBase. Click the banner above to read more.
All of the
juniors were a credit to the club, both in behaviour in the
stadium, attitude for the game and the Exiles, as well as the
work they put into making their hats.
A big hand to
Jason and Jenny for organising the day out - and to all the
coaches and parents who came along to enjoy one of the best
parties at the MadStad this year! |
