This Sunday 4th December,
Aldermaston U8's & U9's stepped out onto the pitch at
half time during the game between London Irish and
Cardiff Blues. They played a game of TAG rugby
against Overton RFC U8's & U9's. The Aldermaston U 8's
are no strangers to stepping out at a big stadium as
earlier this year they represented London Irish in a
showcase game at Twickenham in front of 45,000 fans
during the London Double Header.
Some great rugby was played
by both sides and the children will have many fond
memories of playing rugby in front of 6000+ people, and
of coarse they're favourite dog DIGGER.

Cardiff Blues newest signing
Jonah Lomu was also in the stands, so he may have picked
up a few tips and the children were delighted to hear
they would be playing in front of one of this
generations rugby legends.
Too top the day off London
Irish put on a fine display of rugby and managed to
overcome the Cardiff blues by 27 points to 23. This was
an incredible result by the London Irish young guns
against a strong Blues team comprising of 9 Welsh capped
players.

All of this was possible because
Aldermaston is a community partner of London Irish and ever
since becoming a partner we have some great opportunities,
we had Digger the London Irish mascot come to our Funday,
our U8's got to play at Twickenham, our U8's & U9's have now
played at Madejski, our U13's attended a kicking clinic with
Mike Catt. |
